Pre-Treatment Guidelines

Am I a Candidate?

You are not a candidate for permanent makeup if you have keloid scarring, are pregnant or nursing, or are taking certain blood thinners. Following proper cosmetic procedure guidelines is crucial for ensuring your eligibility for the treatment.

If you have previously had permanent cosmetics in the area you wish to schedule, please submit photos of your existing brows without makeup in good lighting. This step is essential to determine if we can perform the requested service safely.

It is your responsibility to disclose any concerns regarding pre-treatment tips and post care to ensure the best outcome for your permanent makeup preparation.

**IF YOU ARE SICK, GETTING SICK, JUST RECOVERING FROM ILLNESS, ON ANY ANTIBIOTICS AND/OR STEROIDS, OR HAVE ANY COLD/FLU/ILLNESS SYMPTOMS OF ANY KIND IN THE LAST 7 DAYS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT... PLEASE RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT WITH PROPER NOTICE. THIS NOT ONLY PUTS YOUR TECHNICIAN AND OTHERS AT RISK FOR ILLNESS, BUT GREATLY COMPROMISES THE RESULT YOU CAN EXPECT.**

Important to Know

REQUIRED FOR EVERY APPOINTMENT

Prior to your appointment, you'll receive a link to complete the required medical forms. Please submit them 24 hours in advance to ensure your treatment proceeds smoothly. This is part of the cosmetic procedure guidelines necessary for optimal results. Remember to avoid alcohol 24 hours before your visit and consult your doctor if you are on blood thinners, as part of the permanent makeup preparation.

CANCELLATION POLICY

To avoid any fees, please provide at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations. A non-refundable $50 booking fee will be required for late cancellations or no-shows who wish to reschedule, which will go towards your next touch-up treatment. We appreciate your understanding and adherence to these pre-treatment tips.

Brow Prep

Please avoid tweezing, waxing, or threading brows for at least 3-5 days before your visit to adhere to cosmetic procedure guidelines. Do not chemically treat your brows, such as with tint or lamination, for at least one week prior; the longer, the better. It is essential to refrain from tanning, whether in a bed or in the sun, for 2 weeks prior to your appointment. Arriving with a tan or sunburned face will necessitate rescheduling by the technician. Also, please AVOID all unprotected sun exposure for 2-3 weeks. If your face appears burnt or overly tanned at your visit, your appointment may be rescheduled. On the day of your appointment, do not work out. If you experience skin irritation or blemishes within one inch of the brows, your appointment will likely be rescheduled until completely clear. Additionally, avoid BOTOX or cosmetic filler for AT LEAST 2 weeks prior to your appointment, with a longer avoidance preferred. While you may come to your appointment with your brow makeup applied as you typically do, please wear minimal makeup otherwise. Follow these permanent makeup preparation pre-treatment tips: refrain from any chemical treatments, peels, abrasion, or any invasive treatments for at least 4-6 weeks prior to your visit. Discontinue Vitamin A and Retinol products for a month before your appointment and stop using Accutane 12 months prior. Moreover, please avoid excessive alcohol, caffeine, pre-workouts, and energy drinks for 24-48 hours before your appointment. It's also crucial to avoid all blood-thinning medications/supplements for 7-14 days prior to your appointment. **ALWAYS consult with your physician before stopping the use of prescription medication.**

Eyeliner Prep

Call us if you have used any lash enhancing serums in the last 6 months before scheduling your appointment, as part of our cosmetic procedure guidelines. Please bring your contact lens case and glasses. It’s crucial to purchase a brand new tube of mascara for use after healing is complete—DO NOT USE YOUR OLD MASCARA. Avoid working out on the day of your procedure, and refrain from having your lashes tinted or permed at least 1 week before or after treatment. Ensure that lash extensions are removed by a professional; do not attempt at-home removal to protect your natural lashes. Arrive at your appointment without any eye makeup. Also, please refrain from Botox or cosmetic filler treatments for 2 weeks before or after your appointment. If you've had any eye surgery in the past 12 months, bring a doctor-approved letter. It’s important to discontinue any eyelash enhancing serums 6 months prior to your appointment and to stop using Vitamin A and Retinol products for 1 month beforehand. Additionally, discontinue Accutane 12 months prior to your appointment. For the best results, avoid excessive alcohol, caffeine, pre-workouts, and energy drinks for 24-48 hours before your appointment, and refrain from all blood-thinning medications and supplements for 7 days leading up to your appointment. If you have any questions about your supplements or medications, please call your technician for clarification. Always consult with your physician before stopping the use of prescription medication. Following these pre-treatment tips ensures a smooth process for your permanent makeup preparation.

Lip Prep

Beginning 5-7 days before your visit, it’s important to follow cosmetic procedure guidelines by using a daily, gentle lip exfoliating treatment, such as a sugar scrub, along with a rich lip balm to prep your lips for permanent makeup preparation.

**DIY Sugar Scrub**

1 tbsp coconut oil

2 tsp sugar

1 tsp honey

Combine these ingredients in a small jar and stir until mixed. Apply a small amount to your finger, gently rub into your lips for 1 minute, then rinse with warm water.

If you are prone to cold sores, herpes, or fever blisters, it’s essential to obtain an antiviral prescription as a part of your pre-treatment tips. Physicians typically recommend starting the medication 3 days before the procedure, continuing for 7-10 days. PMB suggests taking it 3 days prior, on the day of the appointment, and for 2-3 days after. Be prepared to provide proof of prescription, as the procedure’s trauma may still trigger outbreaks. To minimize the risk of cold sores, many experts advise a dosage of 200 MG taken 5-6 times daily, totaling 1000-1200 MG per day.

If there is any skin irritation or blemishes within 1 inch of your lips, the technician may reschedule your appointment until your skin is clear.

Additionally, avoid Botox or cosmetic fillers for 4 weeks before and after your appointment, discontinue Vitamin A and Retinol products for one month prior, and stop taking Accutane 12 months before.

It’s also advised to refrain from excessive alcohol, caffeine, pre-workouts, and energy drinks for 24-48 hours leading up to the appointment, as well as avoiding all blood-thinning medications and supplements for 7 days prior.

**Always consult with your physician before stopping the use of any prescription medication.**

Your Appointment Guide

We will begin every new client appointment with a full consultation, adhering to established cosmetic procedure guidelines. During this time, we will review the various permanent makeup preparation options available, discuss the process involved in the treatment, set realistic healing expectations, and go over aftercare instructions, all while you get nice and numb with the help of a topical anesthetic.

Before we even consider putting pigment IN your skin, we will design a shape that complements your face, takes into account your natural brow, and aligns with the look you hope to achieve.

This design will serve as a guide for the procedure, so you can rest assured that you'll see a preview of the final look before we start. Only once we have your confident stamp of approval will we proceed with the service.

Then, all that's left is the permanent makeup treatment time, which is generally quite quick! We will apply secondary anesthetics throughout your procedure to ensure your comfort.
